Thank you for starting this thread. I will be adding a resource section for links of this kind and would appreciate it if everyone would use this thread as a repository for their favorite scan links.

LOL: and if you want to see what was "state of the art" back in 1995, you can still download my old Scanning Tips at:
http://www.haywood-sullivan.com/scanning/PDF/WELCOME.PDF
(WARNING: this puppy is BIG -- don't try this with dialup)
This is a PDF version of my book "Make Your Scanner a Great Design & Production Tool" now long since remaindered. It was the first layman's book on using a flatbed scanner. And while the equipment is waaay old, much of the book is still valid. Funny to look back at how things once were...

JD, please remove this if its not suitable.
how do do bulk scanning (http://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2009/05/bulk-scanning-with-epson-flatbed.html) on an epson flatbed applying same settings to all thumbnails
alternative ways to get more out of a Nikon Coolscan for colour negative (http://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2009/04/negative-film-scans-on-nikon-coolscans.html)
optimizing scans using scanner control level adjustments (http://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2008/10/epson-3200-more-optimal-scans.html) when scanning negatives on Epson flatbeds.
Why scan when the lab may be able to do it better (http://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2009/03/noritsu-vs-nikon-ls-iv-ed.html) for you?
Before you go nuts trying to squeeze more detail out of your Epson read this (http://cjeastwd.blogspot.com/2008/08/epson-flatbed-film-scanners.html) and perhaps save your hair pulling.
