Howdy - I'm Dave Re, from Austin, TX.
I'm actually returning to film after a long (well, 4 year) period of shooting exclusively digital. I inherited a raft of analog gear from my grandfather, and have been sorting out a couple of nice kits, and I'm looking forward to putting it to use. I have a nice 'blad rig, a Linhof Master Tech, a Linhof Super Kardan, and a Speed Graphic 4x5 (w/ working focal plane shutter). Super cool stuff :)
I have some experience with a hybrid process - before I went digital, I shot a good amount of 35mm, trying to learn. I ended up w/ a film scanner, and did some work in B&W that was scanned, etc. There are some photos from Alcatraz on my website that are examples ( http://www.daverephoto.com/photocart/index.php?do=photocart&viewGallery=430 ). But, I don't have a lot of film experience, in the grand scheme of things. However - I love the simplicity of the digital work flow, and I intend to continue working this way (plus, my wife would never agree to a wet darkroom... at least in the current house :D ). So, it seems this forum is going to be the place for quite a few of the questions I might have....
Heck, just trying to figure out what film to go to first, and what to dip it in is driving me slightly batty.... Too many choices :D
